Welcome to the Massachusetts Council for Adult Foster Care website! I hope you find the information you are looking for about the AFC program, and the provider association developed to help AFC programs in Massachusetts.
The Adult Foster Care program was developed as a means to keep people in their homes and communities as long as possible, having their care needs met by a trained and qualified caregiver who lives with them. Consumers and caregivers are provided with ongoing support by Adult Foster Care nurses and care managers who visit in the home on a regular basis. While the program has changed and adapted over the years, this premise still holds true.
The Massachusetts Council for Adult Foster Care strives to assist provider agencies in upholding this program model, work within the state regulations and advocate for the program as a valuable residential model in the Commonwealth. The number of program providers has grown tremendously over the years, and now those providers support over 10,000 consumers and their caregivers. This association is meant to provide a means of information and networking, as well as current information about changes that impact the Adult Foster Care program. Meetings are held regularly, and information is made available to members on a routine basis. New members are always welcome to join this group.
As this website continues to evolve and develop, I hope that you find some answers to your questions, as well as resources that will help in your daily operations. Thank you for visiting!
